Re-imagining retail experience at Scotty’s Market a grocery shop plus grill mainly visited by CMU students.

Problem
Since Scotty's Market had been newly launched at Carnegie Mellon University, it mainly had problems related to signage and navigation.
Solution
We created a bunch of solutions which made shopping at Scotty's Market more convenient as well as highlight their brand values.

About Scotty's Market
Scotty's Market, in collaboration with Salem's Grill, stands proudly at Carnegie Mellon University, serving a diverse student body and embodying the spirit of community.

Research
Our research was backed by AEIOU Design methods which involves understanding activities, environment, interactions, objects and users. We also conducted onsite user interviews to understand their feelings.
User Analysis
The target users for our redesign were the shoppers at Scotty's which mainly comprised of Carnegie Mellon University students. This journey helped us then establish our pain points and opportunities.

Given that our project involved cmultiple deliverables and the use of various software applications like Figma, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and others, it was crucial for us to maintain efficiency in file naming and be conscientious about tracking version histories.
02.
Securing interviews with grocery store managers proved to be a significant challenge, as it risked disrupting their work shifts and routines. Consequently, we had to adapt our observation and interview techniques to be less intrusive.
